Overview

This 10 days Uganda safari presents superb wildlife and gorilla and scenic exploration of the magical Pearl of Africa! This tour includes magical activities that are highlights of any adventure in Uganda; these include Ziwa Rhino Trekking, Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest, boat cruise along Kazinga channel and Victoria Nile, Game drives in Queen Elizabeth and Murchison Falls while Bwindi forest presents the magical gorilla trekking experience.

Itinerary

According to your flight schedule, you will reliably be picked up by our driver guide upon your arrival at Entebbe airport. The drive will brief you shortly abut the general information regarding destination Uganda – Languages, culture, routes, program of the tour, and shortly after that, you will exit the airport and drive you to your overnight hotel / lodge.
Have lunch and in the afternoon, take a leisurely evening to the nearby Entebbe botanical gardens, which is a rich habitat for several birds, insects and primate species. Among those you may encounter during this evening walk include vervet monkeys, Guereza Colobus, Diederik Cuckoos, Great Blue and Ross’ turacos, Black and white casqued horn bill, Woodland Kingfisher and the beautiful starling.
The Botanical gardens is truly a tranquil where you can peacefully get away from the noisy town of Entebbe and bond with Mother Nature, enjoying sounds of birds and getting into the stillness of the moment.

Our company safari guide will pick you from your hotel in Entebbe as you begin a journey, north-wards to the magnificent Murchison falls national park – Uganda’s biggest and oldest conservation area; which is famous for. the world’s strongest rapids / waterfalls, the rolling savannah plains dotted with prolific animal populations including the rare kinds like lions, leopards, spotted hyenas, while common inhabitants are giraffes, buffaloes, Topis, Jackson’s hartebeests and elephants.
The park is as well fascinating due to the concentration of Nile crocodiles and hippos in the Nile Delta. Bird lovers have a chance to meet over 450 bird species including the Goliath heron, Shoebill stork and the dwarf king fisher, among others.
Make a visit to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, located in Nakasongola district along Kampala – Masindi highway. Here you will make a stop for at least one hour for rhino tracking adventure, and lunch, and afterwards you will continue to the park for lodge check in and a night stay.

Take early breakfast, and depart for a 6:00am game drive across the rolling plains of Uganda’s largest and oldest conservation area which presents endless opportunities to see elusive and resident animals like giraffes, hartebeests, lions, elephants and buffaloes. For any birder, the game drive enables you to meet secretary birds as well as black chested snake eagle, the rare shoebill stork and the list is endless. Return to the lodge for lunch and some time to relax, or take picnic lunch at a point near the boat starting point.
Head out on a boat trip after lunch to the base of the raging Murchison Falls. While sailing, the banks are thronged with sightings of more animals including Crocodiles, Hippos, buffaloes, elephants, waterbucks, and hundreds of water birds.
You may decide to take a 30-minute hike to top of the falls, for clear views, photography and leisure. The hike is a bit hectic strenuous but the joy you get upon making it to the top is worthwhile. Though optional but always add a hike to the falls in your itinerary.
Drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Upon having breakfast at your place of accommodation, Exit Murchison falls national park and drive away to Kibale Forest National Park, south west of Uganda near Fort portal Tourism city. This is an incredibly scenic journey, traversing lush countryside, remote Banyoro villages and romantic hills blanketed with tea and sugar cane plantations which are typical of western Uganda.
Kibale forest is a popular primate destination for meeting face-to-face with chimpanzees; as well thousands of other primates like grey cheeked mangabeys, colobus monkeys, red tailed monkeys and tens of thousands of bird species including the special Great Blue Turaco.

Head to the ranger station early enough after breakfast; attend a meeting where you will be told about dos and don’ts before and during chimp trekking experience. You will carry on to the jungles, with an armed ranger and porter to begin the chimp trek.
You will be thrilled by the soothing sounds and sights of primates and lush environment that make up Kibale Forest.
Once you locate the habituated chimpanzee troop, breathe and out; and expect an outstanding adventure that you might rather have never seen! You have a full one to play with them, photography and to interact freely in an environment.
After this adventure, you will have lunch and later depart to Queen Elizabeth National Park, through Fort Portal tourism city and Amabere Ga Nyinamwiru caves.

Get up early enough for breakfast and prepare for a sunrise game drive to the gorgeous Kasenyi plains. Kasenyi area is a favorable mating ground for small antelopes and so it is one of the places where you can meet elusive species, like lions and leopards as they are on the hunt.
Other animals which can be spotted during a half day game safari include Defassa Waterbucks, Bush bucks, Uganda kobs, elephants, buffaloes and warthogs.
In the afternoon, undertake a boat trip along Kazinga channel, where you will be fascinated by the huge concentrations of elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks, hippos and crocodiles. You will also see hundreds of bird species along the shores of Kazinga channel. You will have dinner and overnight stay at your lodge.

Early set off from Queen Elizabeth National Park and pass via the Ishasha sector, which is the southern annex of the Park, famed for its resident and elusive tree-climbing lions. There are high chances of seeing species of lions which is about 70% though sometimes they are really hard to spot (mostly spotted during scorching afternoon sun).
After lunch, drive further southwards to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park; a huge shelter for hundreds of mountain gorillas – about 50% of the world’s total population) including over 18 habituated families that can be tracked on daily basis.
In preparation for a strenuous activity the following day, you will do nothing other than checking in; take cold juice and just relaxing around the forest edges as you enjoy fresh sights and sounds.

This is the long – awaited adventure – that begins right away after breakfast, followed with a briefing by the park rangers; thereafter, you will penetrate into this vital gorilla sanctuary which is home to the largest population of mountain gorillas in the world. The beauty of this rain forest alone is splendid coupled with vast flora diversity and birds.
Once you locate a group of habituated gorillas, you will be given only an hour to interact and photograph them, and thereafter descend back to the starting point where you will have lunch and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for evening relaxation.

Take breakfast at the shores and drive from Lake Bunyonyi to Lake Mburo National park. The journey surpasses intensely terraced Kigezi hills, through romantic hills of Ntungamo to Mbarara city and then to Lake Mburo National park, which sits between Mbarara, Kiruhura and Isingiro districts.
Upon arrival in the park, you are welcomed with a sumptuous lunch at the lake side restaurant and have some leisure time, strolling around the lake shores before getting on an evening game drive. The drive exposes one to big population of game, including zebras, impalas, warthogs, Uganda kobs, Elands, buffaloes, giraffes and several species of birds.
Alternatively, you may extend the game drive into the night to view nocturnal species such as elusive leopards, huge snakes, spotted hyenas, owls and pythons.

Enjoy morning breakfast and proceed on a game walking safari / nature walk within the park together with an armed ranger/guide. During this guided walk, you often encounter less dangerous animals plus other elusive ones, such spotted hyenas while they return to their base after a night’s hunt. As well as several opportunities to encounter (at a much closer range): Zebras, Eland, cape buffaloes, Rothschild’s giraffes and Topis, bush bucks, kobs, impalas, plus a profusion of other antelopes. After this experience, drive back to Kampala for onward flight.
