Overview

A 10 day Uganda safari will typically involve gorilla trekking hikes into Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, jungle home to mountain gorillas and 19 gorilla families. This incredible sight and trek will involve bushwhacking through the thick jungle with an experienced local guide to find troops of habituated gorillas.

For the lucky visitors, make sure you have your cameras at the ready as these memories will last a lifetime, all from these ancient rainforests in Bwini NP, one of the few forests in Africa to have flourished throughout the last Ice Age.

Itinerary

On arrival at Uganda’s International Airport -Entebbe, you will be received by our professional guide/driver, and then be transferred to Kampala – Uganda’s capital. The distance from Entebbe to Kampala is about 42 kilometers which is approximately a 1-hour drive. The city is estimated to cover an area of 197 kilometers and has been Uganda’s capital city since 1969. In case of early arrival, you get initiation of Uganda’s wildlife by getting an opportunity to catch a glimpse of Africa’s wildlife at Entebbe Zoo. It has a medium-size collection of wildlife that was saved from captivity, including rhinos, lions, Zebras, crocodiles, giraffes, hyenas, and many others. Dinner and overnight stay .

You will travel to Murchison falls by road or by air. If you are traveling by air, you will be dropped off at Entebbe International Airport for a national flight towards one of the lovely areas. The scheduled plane departs at 08:30 am and is expected to arrive at 10:10 am at Pakuba Airstrip. From here you will be transferred to your accommodation for check-in. In case you are traveling by road, you will be picked from your hotel to then drive North West through Bombo to the Murchison falls with a stopover at Masindi town for lunch. It is approximately 5- 6 hours (300 kilometers) from Uganda’s capital city. Dinner and overnight stay

Spend the whole day in Murchison falls. After early morning breakfast, you will start the day with an interesting game drive on the northern bank of the Nile. Stand high chances of seeing elephants, lions, giraffes, hartebeest, and diverse bird species. Back to the lodge for lunch, then go for a thrilling boat cruise in the afternoon as part of your safari. It will offer you an opportunity for game viewing. Dinner and overnight stay

Enjoy a relaxed breakfast before being transferred to Pakuba Airstrip. The scheduled plane leaves Pakuba at around 10:30 am to Entebbe international airport before heading to western Uganda. You will arrive at Kasese airstrip at around 14: 35 pm where you will be welcomed by our staff who will transfer you to your booked accommodation facility. In case you are traveling by road, you will be transferred from Murchison falls to Kibale forest, driving and passing through green countryside, traditional homesteads, and farms along Albertine Rift escarpments. It is about 7- 8 hours to arrive at the park. Dinner and overnight stay

Have breakfast at the lodge before going for chimpanzee tracking. The forest is sound for having the greatest number of chimpanzees in the country and East Africa as a whole. While tracking these habituated chimpanzees, you will come across other primates including the white colobus monkeys. In the afternoon, transfer to Bigodi swamp well-known for its unique bird species. Dinner and overnight stay

Today, after a relaxed breakfast, transfer to the Queen Elizabeth National park. You will peacefully be driven to the park towards the south passing via the Crater Lake area. Appreciate the beautiful landscape with hills. Continue with a game drive on arrival within the park. It will take you approximately 3-4 hours. Dinner and overnight stay

Have a cup of coffee or tea then go for an early morning game drive to the Kob mating area in Kasenyi. Expect to see elephants, buffaloes, lions, and other fauna in their natural habitat. Return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, go for an exciting boat cruise along the Kazinga channel. A good percentage of wildlife is found along this channel including buffalos, hippos, and elephants. Dinner and overnight stay

Have breakfast then check out from your lodge. Transfer to Kasese Airstrip for the scheduled charter which departs at 10:05 am. It will take you about 2 hours to arrive at Bwindi Impenetrable Forest national park- the home of the threatened mountain gorillas. If you are transferring from queen by road, you will pass via the Ishaha area, pronounced for the tree-climbing lions. It will take you 3-4 hours to reach the park. Dinner and overnight

This is the most interesting part of your safari. It is a very unique and memorable walk, through the muddy and steep environments within the park before you meet any gorilla. It will take you a whole day tracking these great apes. It will be rewarding when you observe these rare apes. Spend some time with them and take some photographs. Dinner and overnight

Appreciate the closing moments in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. You will then be transferred to Kihihi for your flight back to Kampala. There are two flights, one at 10:55 am them the other at 2:05 pm. Choose wisely the most suitable time which is convenient. If you are traveling by road, it will take you 8- 10 hours to arrive in Kampala- Uganda’s capital and 45 minutes to reach Entebbe International Airport.
